twaud.io
eSnips
VoiceThread
(products)
TeacherTube

Audacity
Cross-platform sound recorder and editor, SourceForge.net (free)
Audacity lets you record questions, lectures, grading comments—really, any kind of audio. I also think it's a useful tool to know when assigning oral projects, such as a reading or other less visually-centric presentation. Students and instructors can upload or email files easily.
Online collaboration platform, Edmodo LLC (free)
Edmodo lets instructors form educational groups for their students. It provide a safe place for collaboration, document-sharing, and peer review. This resource is free and is similar to a learning management system, but it's easy to use and provides mobile access and easy linking to Twitter and other social sites.

Male students don't hate practicing a dialogue
Just from my limited experience and from things I've heard, I had an idea that boys, compared to girls, would be reluctant to say something aloud in a foreign language, like repeating/imitating key phrases or practicing a dialogue.
I've been teaching in a women's university for the last 6 years (where I saw girls liked these activities), and now I have started teaching in a coeducational university this April, it's a chance to observe how boys learn and see if/how they learn differently from girls.
This week I gave them a lot of these speaking-aloud activities, wondering how they'd like them. 90 % of them are boys, and it turned out boys as well as girls did enjoy pronunciation practice using a song and dialogue practice in pair, saying they wanted to do more.
Good to know, but I was a bit surprised. I sure remember seeing some reluctant boys when I taught 8 to 10 years ago. Current students and previous ones may have different personalities or attitude. Probably I do different things from what I did years ago. Hmmm. Any way, it's good to know (again) boys don't hate speaking-aloud kinds of activities, and I'll keep looking at my students for a while, keeping in mind Gender Differences in Learning(NASSPE).

Photo Albums did help
It's important and helpful for language teachers to know their students' names, but it'd be quite difficult if you have 8 classes a week, meeting a total of around 200 students. Impossible, I thought at first at the beginning of this semester. I'm never good at remembering names.
I tried my iPod touch (I don't have an iPhone) to help remember their faces and names. During the first classtime, I had the students text me their names with their photos attached. I added to each photo the name, and then copied the photos in the iPod Photo Library.
The albums looked great. The photos can be displayed one by one as an automatic slide show, and you can use the photo albums as flash cards. That worked wonderfully. It was quite easy for me, poor at remembering names, to remember 30 names (and faces) in 10 minutes on my way to school (^^)
To add, you may have them introduce each other, take each other's photo, and talk something about the partner in their message. I tried that in some classes, which helped break the ice, it seemed. I saw them exchange their mobile addresses naturally (which I didn't expect), talking more about each other.
